Using Your Custom Domain on Castiron
Great news! You can now bring your custom domain to your Castiron shop! To start, be sure you have already purchased a domain through a domain provider, such as GoDaddy or Google.
Once you have a domain (or if you already had one to begin with), login to Castiron and select “Shop Settings” and then “Domains”. Select “Connect a Domain”, enter your domain name, and select “Next”. You will then be prompted to login to your Domain Provider and configure your DNS Settings. Once completed, select “Verify Your Domain”. It will take 24-48 hours for your domain to appear on your Castiron shop. If it has exceeded 48 hours, please reach out to your domain provider and confirm that your DNS settings have been configured correctly.
Your Guide to Connecting your Domain to Castiron
The way you will update your DNS will depend on where you purchased your domain.
In general, the process will look something like this:
- Login to your domain registrar’s website.
- Select the Custom Domain you wish to change.
- Find the section for managing DNS entries. The name of this section varies by provider, but is usually something like DNS Configuration, DNS Records, Zone Editor, or Advanced DNS.
- Edit the existing A and CNAME Records for your site. Change the A Record type to "@" and the IP value to 34.102.183.127. Next, change the CNAME type to “www” and “<yourcustomdomain>". For example, if your custom domain is kulturedkombucha.com, then change the CNAME type to “www” and "kulturedkombucha.com"
