Castiron Payments (POS)
Castiron now has a point-of-sale (POS) app that lets you take payments in person at farmers markets, events, pop-up shops, classes, and even from someone you run into on the street who remembered they wanted to order from you as soon as they saw you. The app works with your Castiron online store, so you can track inventory and sales across all your channels.
The POS requires you to download the Castiron Payments app to your phone. This will allow you to accept tap-to-pay options. Tap to Pay POS systems can accept a variety of contactless payments, including:
- Contactless cards: US-issued and most internationally-issued cards with the Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or UnionPay logo. Look for a wave-like symbol to identify contactless cards.
- Digital wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, PayPal, and Android Pay.
- Wearables: Smart watches and other wearables like bracelets, fobs, and rings.
System requirements
Castiron Payments is only available on iPhone at this time. It is not available on Android devices...yet. We will update you when it is.
You need an iPhone Xs or newer and the phone must be running iOS 15.5 or later to use Castiron Payments.
Castiron Payments is not currently available on iPad.
iPhone Settings for Tap to Pay
To prepare your iPhone to use Tap to Pay:
- Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 15.5 or higher. To check if your software is up to date, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- If you haven’t already, set a passcode for your iPhone by going to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. Tap to Pay on iPhone requires a device passcode.
